DISCOVER DAHANU FESTIVAL 2010 |

which will take you on a ride steeped in the cultural and environmental facets of the area. So take a two-hour train journey or drive down the N.H.8 Highway and be with us for the weekend of 2nd and 3rd October 2010.
We have organized a number of sporting and cultural activities for you to come and really experience the character of this town. So, do join in and support our initiative of displaying and conserving the cultural and environmental heritage of our beloved taluka, and win exciting prizes! |

a) Nature Trail at 10am
Our local experts will take you on a guided walk through an ecological ‘hotspot’ area. There will be small games and mind-teasers with chances of winning locally made prizes.
Participation fee: Rs. 25/- per person. Eligibility: Anyone and everyone interested in knowing more about the flora and fauna of their surroundings. Venue: Text here. |

b) Envirun 2010
Join us in our endeavor to save the environment. Run with us for kilometers along the Beach, and show your support for the ‘No plastic, No Littering’ campaign. The first three to finish the race will get a unique Dahanu flavored hamper, and if you are the one to finish first, you could win yourself an exclusive and fabulous surprise prize!!!
Participation fee: Rs. 50/- per person. Eligibility: Any person who cares for the environment and would like to run, walk, his/her way along the Beach for a cause. Venue: Dahanu Beach, Parnaka. |

c) The Mela
Visit our stalls displaying artifacts made by local artisans, try your hand at warli painting, basket weaving and pottery at our many workshops or simply gorge on local snacks at our food stalls. The USP of this mela is the ‘Snake Information Workshop’, watch experts handle live snakes and give you the lowdown on the serpent kind. Also witness a live performance of the Warli Taarpa Dance.

d) Camp Fire Nite
Get ready for a Saturday night party of a different kind! Witness an enchanting Warli Tadpa Dance display by actual local tribal dancers, join in the celebration with live folk music. Warm your bellies with BBQ snacks as the fire warms your face with its brilliance. Participate in numerous impromptu games and activities, an award ceremony spoof and other exciting, fun activities to assure you have a night to remember!

a) The Amazing DISCOVER DAHANU RACE, 2nd edition
This is your chance to participate in an amazing race and have the time of your life! Teams of 3 will be assigned one rickshaw each, this will be their mode of transport as they solve clues to get to the next stop, where they must perform a task efficiently to get the clue to the next place. The team who performs all the tasks correctly and reaches the finish-line first, WINS!
Participation fee: Rs. 750/- per team. Eligibility: Teams of 3, each participant must be above the age of 18 yrs. Teams limited to 12; so HURRY. Coverage Area: All over Dahanu Taluka! Venue: Text here. |
