A drive along the picturesque Sahyadri Mountain range and crisp coastal air will take you to DAHANU, what one may consider as a small, sleepy coastal town on the shores of the Arabian Sea.
Accessible from Dahanu is Udwada, the ‘Mecca of Zoroastrians’ and a port town of Sanjan, one of the early settlement regions of the Zoroastrians who fled to the Indian sub-continent in order to escape religious persecution in their Persian homeland. It was here that these Iranian refugees built their first fire temple in India.

Getting there:

Nearest Airport : Mumbai
Nearest Railhead : Dahanu Road (124 kms. from Mumbai)
Road Drive : 145 kms from Mumbai
Accomodation:

There are couple of few good hotels in Dahanu overlooking the Arabian Sea and also two Parsi Sanatoriums.
MTDC also has a resort at Bordi with self-contained rooms.
Ecotourism is also a good option for those seeking company with nature.

“The past is never dead”, it is said.
This ‘once’ holy hill where upon a
time our ancestors took not only
refuge but also protected our fires
and kept them burning for 12 long
years is now in ruins.
