Dahanu has a conglomeration of people from almost all major religions like Hinduism, Islam, Jainism, Sikhism, Christianity, Zoroastrianism, etc.
Basically, Dahanu has an agrarian based economy and almost 66% of Dahanu’s total population, constitute the Warli’s, an indigenous tribe, the remaining population mainly comprising farmers, horticulturists, fisher folks and people from ancillary occupations like carpenters, goldsmiths, tailors, milk-sellers, palm-juice drawers, butchers, bamboo-workers, etc., businessmen and few others traveling to nearby business oriented places like Mumbai, Umbergaon and Vapi for jobs.
